IFIC launches Statistics API to enhance access to data for members

August 22, 2024 (Toronto) – The Investment Funds Institute of Canada (IFIC) is pleased to announce the launch of its new Statistics API (application program interface). The new API will make it easier for IFIC’s fund manager members to access and use IFIC’s monthly mutual fund and ETF asset and sales datasets by providing a streamlined, automated, and secure method for importing monthly data into internal systems and databases.

Benefits
The API provides the following advantages for IFIC fund manager members:

  • Efficiency: significantly reduces the time and resources required for members to import monthly data from the IFIC statistics website (www.ificstats.ca)
  • Speed: shortens turnaround time for internal analysis and reporting
  • Automation: facilitates automatic data transfers, minimizing manual data-handling

“This API is an evolution in data-sharing and is just one of the ways IFIC is working to fulfill its strategic goal of delivering strong value to members and prospective members,” said Ian Bragg, IFIC’s Vice-President, Research and Statistics.
